Spotlight Interview with Katee Kross

As a new signing to Connect Katee is certainly making a big impression.


Q1. Provide a short bio about yourself
Katee is a 19 year old singer/songwriter from Bishopbriggs who has already worked with some of the big Names In the Scottish scene, Katee has supported Karine Polwart in March 2015 at the Lochwinnoch Music Festival, and has also appeared at the 2015 Celtic Connections, Katee has supported RedSky July, and North Sea gas as well as Scocha, In September 2015 Katee supported Barbara Dickson and also supported Barbara in October 2015 after winning a finalist spot at the Spree Music Festival 2014 open stage Competition.
In may 2016 Katee Opened for James Grant of Love and Money
In October/November 2015 Katee travelled to Dunkeld for a week to play 4 gigs at the Dougie MacLean Amberfest .
In July 2015 Katee appeared on STV Glasgow’s Riverside show.
Katee Released her first E.P. (2015) as well as a single, The Hammer released on iTunes on Boxing Day 2015,
In March 2016 Katee opened for Dougie MacLean at the Lochwinnoch Arts Festival and joined him onstage to sing ‘’This Love will Carry ‘’
Nov 2016 Katee once again supported Dougie MacLean at the Thomas Muir Festival
March 26 2016 seen the start of a week long tour for Katee ending in the Fort Theatre Bishopbriggs on Saturday 2 April 2016 for the release of her debut album ‘’Beautiful Dreamer’’ which is a 10 track album with 9 of the songs penned by Katee.
Katee has a very active gig schedule, performing most weekends. Katee also has just been booked for 1 year to run an open mic every second Thursday in The Clutha Bar Glasgow starting Jan 2017.
In October 2016 Katee played at Wembley Arena with Seasick Steve.

I am a Black Belt In Karate
I have played Wembley Arena !!

Dougie MacLean ,The Beatles , Steve Earle

Q5. Favorite current song?
Ed Sheeran Castle of the hill

Q6. Favourite heckle at gigs?
That Guitarist has music in his blood ,,,pity it hasn’t reached his fingers yet

Q7. One item you would couldn’t live without?
My Guitars, My Mini Car, My Doc Martins, My Make , too many more to list lol
