Kevin Smith is one fourth of the very talented Standing Order. Have a read at Kevin's interview

Q1. Provide a short bio about yourself
My name is Kev Smith, I’m 30 years old and from Rutherglen. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 7. I currently sing and play guitar in a band called Standing Order and also perform as a solo artist for Connect Entertainment.

Q2. People would be surprised to know what about you
My sister and I have the same birthday, 5 years apart (27th August). My parents also have the same birthday, 4 years apart (1st February).

Q3. Favourite place to gig?
It’s always nice playing in new venues but I do enjoy playing bars with a lively atmosphere. My favourite place at the moment is probably The Hoolet’s in Blantyre.

Q4. Biggest music influence?
Like a lot of people my age, I’d have to say Oasis. Their songs were the first songs I learned on guitar and I think Noel Gallagher will go down in history as one of the most important songwriters Britain has ever produced.

Q5. Favourite current song?
‘Nae Saft Touch’ by The Wakes. Great song from a great band.

Q6. Favourite heckle at gigs?
At a gig last year there was a guy who was convinced I looked like Kevin Bridges. He was singing to me, “Bridges, Bridges, give us a song” and “There’s only 2 Kevin Bridges!” Was funny for a wee while, I suppose.

Q7. One item you would couldn’t live without?
Google Maps!

Q8. Song you are requested to play the most?
I don’t think a gig goes by without someone asking for some Oasis. It’s nice to throw in some obscure b-side and watch their reaction.
